Project Overview

This stunning installation combines elegant design with the latest solar technology. Our customer wanted a renewable energy system that would complement their home’s appearance while providing real savings on their electricity bills. We designed and installed a bespoke solar PV system using 20 x Jinko all black panels with a building integrated in-roof mounting system, which seamlessly sets the panels into the roof for a sleek, modern look that blends perfectly with the property’s architecture. There are no raised frames or visible fixings, just a flush weatherproof surface.

The solar array feeds into a combined inverter and battery system with a separate string inverter, ensuring reliable performance and maximum efficiency throughout the year. This smart combination allows the homeowners to capture and store the energy they generate during the day and use it later when they need it most.  Should there be a power cut the system then seamlessly supplies the whole house.

The system works quietly in the background, automatically managing solar generation, battery storage, and household demand to make the very most of every Kilowatt hour of clean energy produced.

Challenges Presented

Property under construction
The property, at the time of installation was undergoing an extensive renovation including a complete new roof.

Coordination of Services
The project, at roof battening stage, required coordination with multiple other trades to ensure the in-roof panels were installed without delay to other trades.

High Usage Demand
We designed a bespoke solar and battery system with full home backup, as the property is located in a rural area with regular grid outages.

Solutions Implemented

Smart Energy Management
Using the latest technology, controllable via cloud and app, to provide a smart, full home backup in the event of grid outages.

Cost Saving Benefits
Maximising tariff integration options allows grid trading from the battery and supporting the property at lower overnight rates.

Challenges Presented

Historic Building Constraints
The property was Grade II listed, requiring non-invasive installation techniques and close collaboration with heritage consultants and conservation specialists.

Tight Deadlines
The project had to be completed within a tight 12-week schedule in order to align with the hotel’s grand reopening schedule and spectacular

Complex Coordination
We worked alongside architects, interior designers, project consultants, sustainability advisors and HVAC specialists to ensure seamless integration.

Solutions Implemented

Low-Profile Containment Systems
Used surface-mounted trunking with custom finishes to blend with period features.

Smart Energy Management
Installed intelligent building management systems (BMS) to monitor and optimise energy usage.

Phased Installation
Adopted a phased approach to minimize disruption and maintain compliance during ongoing construction.
