Project Overview

Ace Solar Energy were awarded the contract to install a 1034-panel solar PV array, maximising the available roof space and delivering a highly efficient renewable energy solution. The system incorporates a fully monitored and optimised SolarEdge inverter system, providing advanced performance monitoring, enhanced safety and long-term reliability.

Commissioned by a major investment company for their tenant, the system enables the client to supply generated energy at a fixed rate for consumed power. A specialist metering solution was also integrated to capture generation data, on-site consumption from both PV and grid supply, as well as exported energy.

Scope of Works

Large Scale Solar PV Installation

Design and installation of a 1034-panel solar PV array, configured to maximise roof coverage while achieving optimal generation performance.

Advanced SolarEdge Inverter Technology

Installation of a fully monitored SolarEdge optimised inverter system, incorporating 517 optimisers across 36 strings, providing panel-level monitoring and enhanced system efficiency.

Integrated Monitoring & Metering

Implementation of specialist metering and Modbus monitoring to capture generation, site usage and exported power data, enabling accurate monitoring and reporting.

Enhanced Safety Features

Incorporation of advanced SolarEdge safety technologies, including:

  • Panel level monitoring
  • Built-in thermal sensors for enhanced protection
  • Detection of abnormal PV connectors to prevent safety issues
  • Gateway integration linked directly to the building fire alarm system, reduces panel voltage to 1v per pair in the event the alarm is triggered.

Large Scale Infrastructure Coordination
Managing 1034 panels, 517 optimisers and associated cabling required detailed coordination and precision throughout the installation.

Cable Management & Roof Detailing
Variations in roof coverings and ridge heights required a robust and carefully considered cable tray system to protect and route cabling safely.

Performance and Safety Requirements
Delivering a system that balanced high output performance with enhanced monitoring and safety standards was a key project requirement.

Variations in roof coverings and ridge heights required a robust and carefully considered cable management system. Protecting the cable from UV degradation, vermin and lifting cables off the roof avoiding abrasion.
